Since 2020, the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) has offered Virtual Learning Labs—an online educational series designed to advance the knowledge and skills of healthcare simulation professionals. Led by industry experts, these sessions cover a diverse range of topics relevant to the simulation community. PCS has been an active participant from the beginning, and below, you’ll find links to recorded webinars.
As we prepare for the 2025 Learning Labs, we invite you to join us for another year of insightful learning and collaboration.

Easier Than You Think: Bringing Generative AI into Clinical Simulation
Nick Stoick and Read Blumberg provide a fast-paced, straightforward software demonstration of SimVox. SimVox is an AI-enhanced smart speaker, that can be positioned next to any make or model of simulator, giving it the ability to converse with the learner.
SimVox is one of 3 PCS simulation products that utilizes generative AI to enhance clinical skills training for healthcare learners. SimVox is also the newest PCS.ai product.

Enhancing experiential student-led simulated learning through the use of custom patients
The global COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the challenges of providing students with authentic opportunities for workplace-based learning. At Liverpool John Moores University, academic staff on the undergraduate Master of Pharmacy programme developed, piloted and implemented a range of experiences for students, designed to simulate a wide range of “day in the life” experiences for students in a variety of settings.
Learn how the team at LJMU implemented immersive, student-led simulation events that could take place regardless of date, time and setting by creating custom patients across a variety of presenting conditions and clinical settings

3 Healthcare Professions, 2 Years, and 1 Digital Patient: SMU's successful integration of Digital Patients presented by Amin Azzam MD, MA
We’ve all seen the ubiquitous presence and rapid improvement of smart speakers in society. But is that technology ready for health care simulation environments?
Amin Azzam, MD, MA and PCS teammates present how Spark has been successfully piloted at Samuel Merritt University across nursing, physician assistant and nurse practitioner programs over the past 3 years.

Stretching Simulation in Spacetime
As simulation programs around the world reacted to the global pandemic by transitioning to remote virtual experiences, we lost one of the key value components of simulation - practicing as a team.
What if you could get your remote teams of learners to work together in a simulation? What if you could hand over a simulation from one learner to the next? What if simulation supported interprofessional education for teams distributed over not only space but time?
This presentation, led by Balazs Moldovanyi, CEO of PCS, explores how healthcare simulation can be expanded across both space and time using digital tools.
